WELD COUNTY, Colo. – On February 1, 2023, at approximately 11:30 a.m., officers from the Nunn Police Department and Ault Police Department responded to the Soaring V Fuels gas station, located in Nunn, on a report of a male who asked staff to call 911 as he believed he was overdosing on narcotics.
The male, later identified as Brian Ledezma, 31, was found to be overdosing on suspected narcotics when officers arrived on scene. Medics were called to the scene and Ledezma was immediately transported to a hospital for medical treatment. As the criminal investigation into the source of the narcotics continued, the Weld County Drug Task Force (WCDTF) responded to assist. The investigation ultimately yielded approximately 12,000 counterfeit prescription pills suspected of containing fentanyl, eight pounds of suspected methamphetamine, a half-pound of suspected cocaine, and two firearms. All these items were recovered from Ledezma’s vehicle at the gas station in Nunn.
As the narcotics investigation was progressing, Greeley Police Detectives were simultaneously working an unrelated drive-by shooting case that occurred in Greeley on January 17, 2023. It was discovered that Ledezma was involved in that incident as well. Ledezma drove by a home in the 9000 block of 19th Street Road at about 7:00 p.m. on 1/17/23. He then fired multiple rounds into the home that was clearly occupied by adults and a child. Luckily, nobody in the home was injured by the gunfire.

– Attempted Murder in the First Degree w/ Extreme Indifference, a Class 2 Felony
– Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, a Class 5 Felony
– Criminal Mischief, a Class 6 Felony
In reference to the narcotics investigation that originated in Nunn, Ledezma was arrested on numerous counts including:
– Unlawful Possession with Intent to Distribute, a Class 1 Drug Felony
– Unlawful Possession with Intent to Distribute, a Class 1 Drug Felony
– Unlawful Possession with Intent to Distribute, a Class 1 Drug Felony
– Unlawful Possession with Intent to Distribute, a Class 1 Drug Felony
– Special Offender, a Class 1 Drug Felony
This was a cumulative effort that included multiple investigators and resources from multiple agencies and units.
