Two Dead in Murder-Suicide

GREELEY, Colo. – On Monday, March 17, at approximately 9:33 a.m., a Greeley Police Officer was dispatched to investigate a complaint of a possible restraining order violation. At approximately 4:30 p.m., the Greeley Police officer was speaking with the victim to update her on the status of her case. While speaking with the officer, the victim advised that the male suspect had returned to the scene. Greeley Police immediately responded to the 2400 block of 38th Avenue on reports of a man with a weapon. When officers arrived on scene, they located a deceased 36-year-old male with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the parking lot. They subsequently found a 40-year-old woman with multiple gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle. A two-year-old child was found uninjured in the back seat.

The Greeley Police Department had previously investigated a domestic dispute between the victim and the suspect.

The names of the deceased will be released by the coroner’s office pending next of kin notification.
This is an ongoing investigation. We are asking anybody with information on this case to contact Detective Elizabeth Finch at (970) 350-9682 or [email protected]. No further information will be released today.
