GREELEY, Colo. – On Sunday, March 27, 2022, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a Greeley Police Officer was at a local hospital for an unrelated call, when a vehicle pulled in behind them at the emergency room transporting a gunshot victim.
The victim, a 31-year-old male, was immediately rushed into surgery with life-threatening injuries. Officers located the scene of the shooting in the 2300 block of 24th Street Road. The victim was identified as Eric Maxwell. Maxwell succumbed to his injuries on March 30, 2022.
During the course of this investigation a suspect was identified as Anthony Roy Farias, a 26-year-old male. On this date, Farias was arrested on a warrant, issued by a district court judge, for the first-degree murder of Maxwell.
The investigation continues. No additional information will be released today.
