GREELEY, Colo. – On Saturday, May 14, 2022, at approximately 10:25 a.m., the Weld County Regional Dispatch Center received multiple 911 calls about an injury traffic accident at the intersection of 1st Avenue and 22nd Street. Multiple officers from the Greeley Police Department responded to the scene and were advised that the accident involved a motorcycle and a truck.

The driver of the motorcycle, an adult male, was transported by ambulance to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. His identity is being withheld to ensure proper next-of-kin notifications have been made. The decedent’s identity will be released at a later time by the Weld County Coroner. The driver of the pickup was uninjured.

The preliminary investigation shows the motorcycle was being driven south on 1st Avenue approaching 22nd Street when a pickup truck was driving north and turned left onto 22nd Street in front of the motorcyclist. The investigation is still ongoing.

The roadway was closed for approximately for approximately 3.5 hours while the accident was being investigated. Greeley Fire Fighters at station 4 moved operations due to the road closure to a different station while the road was closed.
