Greeley detectives seek information for homicide investigation

On Thursday, December 30 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Greeley Police officers were dispatched to 2455 Ash Avenue on reports of a shooting that had just occurred and were told there were two people shot. Officers quickly arrived on-scene to find the victims, 46-year-old Ruben Moreno and a 36-year-old male. Both men were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The 36-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the hospital shortly after arriving and Moreno was released after treatment. The identity of the deceased victim will be released by the Weld County Coroner. The investigation is on-going. At this time, it appears this was an isolated incident and we do not believe there is an on-going threat to the general public.

No additional information will be released today. Anyone with information about this case is asked to please contact Detective Sanchez at 970-351-5394.
