Greeley Police Investigate Man Found Deceased After Severe Storms

GREELEY, Colo. – On the morning of Wednesday, May 29, 2024, Greeley Police Officers were called to the backyard of a home in the 800 block of 24th Street reference a person down call. The Greeley Fire Department also responded to assist.

Officers arrived on scene and located a deceased adult male in the backyard of the property. The previous night, May 28th, Greeley experienced storms and heavy rain that resulted in severe flooding throughout several areas of the city; including the area of this call. It is unknown at this time if the man’s death is the result of the storm or another cause.

The Weld County Coroner will be performing an autopsy to determine the cause of death in the coming days. The identity of the deceased will be withheld from the public pending next-of-kin-notifications. The homeowner is cooperating with the investigation and at this time we have no reason to suspect foul play is involved.

If you have any information about this case and have not spoken with officers, please contact the Greeley Police Department at (970) 350-9605. We will update the public when we have additional information to share.
