Greeley Police make arrest in December shooting homicide

On Thursday, December 30, 2021, at approximately 6:30 pm, Greeley Police officers were dispatched to 2455 Ash Avenue on reports of a shooting that had just occurred and were told there were two people shot. Officers quickly arrived on-scene to find the victims, 46-year-old Ruben Moreno and a 36-year-old male. Both men were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The 36-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the hospital shortly after arriving and Moreno was released after treatment. The identity of the deceased victim will be released by the Weld County Coroner.

The investigation led to Greeley Police detectives obtaining an arrest warrant for a 32-year-old female. On Friday, January 14, 2022, the female suspect was located and taken into custody without incident. She was booked at the Weld County Jail on charges of:
– Murder in the First Degree
– Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender
– Assault in the First Degree
