Greeley Shooting Leaves Juvenile in Critical Condition

GREELEY, Colo. – On Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at approximately 8:49 pm, Greeley Police Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 3700 block of 24th Street, on reports of a shooting that had just occurred. While en route to the scene, officers were told that the suspect had fled the scene after the shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a juvenile male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds with severe injuries. Medics were summoned to the scene and immediately transported the victim to a local hospital. The victim remains in the hospital in critical condition.

Members of the Greeley Police Department remained on scene overnight to continue their investigation. The investigation led members of the department to a Greeley home west of 59th Avenue, between 13th Street and 16th Street. A reverse 911 call was sent out advising nearby residents to shelter in place at approximately 6:00 am, as the Greeley Police Department SWAT Team was activated. The suspect was not located in the home, and the area was cleared and deemed safe at approximately 10:30 am.
