On October 9, 2019, at 0505 hours the Greeley Police Department was dispatched to a shooting in the 2400 block of 16th street. Officers quickly arrived at the crime scene, where they contacted an adult male victim with apparent gunshot wounds. Medical personnel were summoned to the scene, and the male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officers and Detectives received excellent witness statements, along with video and quickly identified the suspect in this case as, Jaime Gonzalez-Quezada. Quezada’s estranged wife was also present during the shooting when Quezada fired his weapon at the victim, striking him.

Detectives were following up on several leads on the whereabouts of Quezada after he fled the scene.  At around 0930 on October 9th, Jaime Gonzalez-Quezada turned himself into the Greeley Police Department.

Quezada was booked into the Weld County Jail and charged with Murder in the second degree (F2), Reckless Endangerment (M3) (Domestic Violence Related) and held with no bond.
