On Monday, August 15 at 11:43 a.m., Greeley Police officers were dispatched to Jefferson High School, located at 1315 4th Avenue on reports that a student had been stabbed.

Multiple officers arrived on scene and located a juvenile victim with multiple stab wounds inside the school. The victim was transported to a local hospital for their injuries and is expected to survive.

The suspect, also a juvenile student, was taken into custody without incident and transported to Platte Valley Youth Services, a juvenile intake facility. They have been charged with 1st Degree Assault, a Class 3 Felony and Interference with Staff/Faculty/Students, a Class 1 Misdemeanor.

Due to the victim and suspect’s ages, we will not be releasing any additional information about either. There is no on-going threat to the students, faculty or surrounding area and nobody else was injured during the assault. No additional information will be released today.

If you have any information on this case and have not been interviewed by officers, please contact Detective Robert Cash at 970-350-9601.
