GREELEY, Colo. – On February 25, the Greeley Police Department, Greeley Fire Department, and Emergency Medical Technicians responded to the intersection of 26th Avenue and 10th Street on reports of a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle.
Once on scene, officers located a 56-year-old male pedestrian with serious injuries. The male was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later. The Weld County Coroner will release the identity of the deceased at a later time, pending next-of-kin notifications. Due to the severity accident, the Greeley Police Department Traffic Unit will lead the investigation.
While the investigation is ongoing, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be involved at this time. The 60-year-old female driver stayed on scene after the accident and is cooperating with the investigation. There were also several witnesses who also remained on scene to speak with officers.
