On Monday, December 6, 2021, Greeley Police Property Crimes Unit Detectives and Investigators from the BATTLE Group North, a stolen vehicle joint taskforce consisting of investigators from multiple agencies, executed a search warrant at a suspected “chop shop” in Greeley.
Suspects Michael Leach, 36, and Carrie Boggs, 38, were arrested at the chop shop, which was found at 113 N. 6th Avenue. Both suspects had multiple warrants for their arrests and are also suspects in a plethora of other vehicle thefts, burglaries, eluding from police, and other crimes.
Investigators recovered seven stolen vehicles, a stolen trailer, stolen auto parts, and multiple stolen toolboxes with accompanying tool sets. These stolen items are from victims and cities all across northern Colorado as well as the Denver metro area.
We would like to thank our partners at the Colorado State Patrol, Loveland Police Department, and Frederick Police Department for supplying BATTLE Investigators to assist with this case.
The investigation is still on-going, but we would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to write down the serial numbers of tool boxes, expensive tools, weapons, etc. that you own. There were a number of clearly stolen items that we could not link to the original owner due to having no serial number on record.
No additional information will be released today.
If you have any information on this case and have not been interviewed by officers, please contact
the Greeley Police Department at 970-350-9605.
