GREELEY, Colo. – On August 13, 2022 at 11:15 p.m., Greeley Police officers were dispatched to the Rancho El Corazon bar, located at 125 East 18th Street on reports of a shooting that had just occurred.
Officers arrived shortly after to a chaotic crime scene with two victims shot. That victims were transported to a local hospital and survived.
The investigation revealed that a masked suspect arrived outside the bar in a vehicle, exited the vehicle and fired dozens of rounds from a rifle at patrons standing outside of the bar.
The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction prior to officer’s arrival.
During this investigation the suspect was identified as Efren Sanchez, a 36-year-old male. A warrant was issued for Sanchez’ arrest today, August 27th, 2022. Officers located Sanchez and took him into custody without incident. Sanchez has been booked into the Weld County Jail on the warrant which includes charges of 4 counts of Criminal Attempt Murder in the First Degree After Deliberation and 4 counts of Criminal Attempt Murder in the First Degree with Extreme Indifference.
