GREELEY, Colo. (Greeley Police Department) – In early 2024, the Weld County Drug Task Force (WCDTF) began to receive information about 45-year-old Jade Mikel Shane selling large quantities of illegal narcotics out of his home in Weld County.
On September 5th, 2024, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and the Greeley Police Department SWAT team secured Shane’s home in the 3200 block of 11th, Avenue, Evans, Colorado without incident. After the home was secured, the WCDTF completed the service of a search warrant. The subsequent search yielded distribution amounts of narcotics and multiple firearms. In total, Investigators found the following in Shane’s home:
– Over half of a pound of Methamphetamine
– Approximately 1,440 counterfeit M-30 pills suspected of containing fentanyl
– Approximately 16.5 grams of psilocybin mushrooms
– 12 firearms, including one gun stolen out of Greeley
Shane was taken into custody and was booked into the Weld County jail on a Special Offender charge as well as two narcotic-related charges.
Shane was previously convicted of several felony narcotic charges dating back to early 2013 in Weld County. He was sentenced to serve time in the Colorado Department of Corrections stemming from the three following felony convictions:
– Possession of 2 grams or less of Methamphetamine (2013)
– Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender (2014)
– Possession with Intent to Distribute – (2014)
From these crimes that Jade Shane was found guilty for, he served approximately 7 years of a 14-year prison sentence. He was on parole for approximately 1 year and 6 months prior to the charges stemming from this investigation.
