GREELEY, Colo. – On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at approximately 6:45 PM, Greeley Police Officers were dispatched to a home in the 6700 block of 34th Street Road for a domestic disturbance with weapons call during which one round was allegedly fired.
Upon arrival, officers found the disturbance to be between the victim, a 69-year-old man, and his 58-year-old wife, the suspect. The victim thankfully was safe at a neighbor’s home when officers arrived. The suspect had retreated into the home prior to the officer’s arrival.
Officers established a permitter around the home and made loud announcements for the suspect to come out of the home unarmed. A short time later the female suspect emerged from the home unarmed and was taken into custody without incident. The female was transported to the Weld County Jail and booked for:
– Attempted 2nd Degree Murder
– Felony Menacing
– Prohibited Use of a Weapon – Intoxicated
– Domestic Violence
Nobody was struck by the gunfire and there is no additional threat to the area at this time. To protect the victim’s identity, we will not be releasing the name of the suspect.
