Greeley Murder Suspect Captured Without Incident

GREELEY, Colo. –On Monday, June 19, multiple officers from the Greeley Police Department were dispatched to a large disturbance with at least 10 gunshots in the 800 block of 28th Avenue. After arriving to a very chaotic scene, officers located two adult gunshot victims.

Medical personnel also responded to the scene and transported both men, ages 23 and 24, to a local hospital. The 24-year-old victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The 23-year-old male, later identified Tise Koji, sustained serious injuries and was briefly on life support before passing away at a local hospital.

The suspect, later identified as 20-year-old Eric Nshizirungu, fled the area in a vehicle prior to police arriving on scene. The Greeley Police Department’s Investigation Unit responded and took over the investigation. Detectives believed that this was an isolated incident and that the victims and suspect knew each other.

With the help of multiple citizen tips and assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, and Fort Morgan Police Department, Eric Nshizirungu was captured without incident. He was transported to the Weld County Jail and booked in on charges of Murder in the First Degree, Aggravated Menacing, and 1st Degree Assault.

No further information will be released today. Anyone with information about this case is asked to please call Detective KellerTwigg at 970-573-2919.
